London Adventures

Friday, Saturday and Sunday's Adventures included:

Friday started with a ride on The Original Tours - hop on hop off tour however, I left my camera behind so I don't have any pictures of the ride around town.

After dinner we headed to the London Eye at Night:

Saturday we got up early and headed to the Portobello Road Market:

Then we headed down to the Thames for our river cruise

 And then to Piccadilly Circus

Trafalgar Square

and the Sherlock Holmes Pub for a Cider :)

Sunday was spent at the Tower of London:

After 3 days I have learned the following about London.
1 - Tube is an awesome for getting around but it can get really crowded.
2 - There is good food in London.
3 - The weather changes rapidly throughout the day, take your coat, don't be fooled by the midday warmth.
4 - There are a lot of People in London, even in December - I can't imagine what it is like in the summer.

London Day 1

So believe it or not I finally made it to London England.  My daughter has been in England since September for school and we are here to visit and celebrate her 21st birthday.

We left Atlanta on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and I had lovely dreams of a half filled flight - NOT, we were squished into the economy section of a full British Airways flight.  The flight was uneventful except for a bit of turbulence, (I might have slept an hour on the plane).

We landed on time and proceeded through Customs, baggage claim and to the Express Train to London. Then we were off to Paddington Station and on to the Circle line and our flat just across from the Tower of London.

Trinity Park just outside the tube Station
Our building is the tannish/yellow building on the right of the monument.

Once we were settled (it was about 1pm) so we headed out to survey the area and find some food.  I will say everyone was incredibly helpful and we had Sandwiches at Remy's and he very kindly told us where to find the local Tesco Express to pick up a few staples for the room.

Then we decided to relax a bit as we waited for my daughter to arrive from school.  We had a light dinner and a bit of a walk around the Tower Hill area and decided to turn in so we could get an early start the next day.

Weekend in the Mountains - Gatlinburg TN

So as I have said my Kiddos are getting ready to fly the coup and I believe the Hubby might be a bit concerned about how all these changes are going to affect things around the house.

So as a preemptive strike he decided we needed to take a trip to Gatlinburg TN for a weekend in the mountains.  He even got a lovely new camera so I could takes some pictures.  I think he is mounting a distract and confuse game plan.  He knows I will be busy the month of October with work, November will be busy getting ready for our trip to England, December is filled with holiday stuff and then he will be left alone for the first couple months of the year as I will be consumed with Year End and 1st Quarter reporting. So if he distracts me with a new camera he should be able to keep himself out of trouble until October.

Here are a couple of the pictures from this weekend.  I must admit I really like the new camera.  :)

I really like the close up option - The butterfly pictures are my favorite.

The Year in Review

I know it may seem a bit early to do a blog post called The Year in Review however, my lack of blog activity is merely a sign of a year going way to fast for this mere mortal to comprehend. I am still in shock that it is August and the last few days of my life as a 24hr MOM!! are quickly coming to a close.

Here is a bit of what this year has been like so far.

Work
Work
 Work
Work
PROM

Work
Work
Graduation

I know I have implied that I have done nothing but work which is not entirely true, but work sure has taken up most of the this year.  I did get away for a MESA retreat in May which was lovely. My Past Life Regression practice has been active and as always incredibly enlightening.  However a scan through my phone pictures lets me know I did do a few other things this year.

Like the  annual Ren Fest trip

A night at Eddie's Attic

I made some Puerto Rican Lasagna - Pinon

I bit of pool lounging

I got to play cab service to the hospital so this adorable little girl could make her way into the world :)

The Train Concert

I was privileged to see this sight - A car with its very own Rainbow in the trunk

Reunion of two peas in a pod

And I even managed to paint my favorite picture thus far:

In less than two weeks the youngest will move into her new apartment in the city.  She will be minutes from her new job as a Hostess and Georgia State where she will be going to school.

In about a month the oldest will be heading to the University of Hertfordshire where she will embark on a year of study in the UK (I will be heading there for visit more on that later).

So today in my awareness of times fleeting ways I headed home early to make dinner and  Peach Cobbler from a secret family recipe (modified to be gluten free).

Cheers
